Le dimensioni e la forma del prodotto variano da un pezzo all'altro a causa del processo di produzione. L'aspetto dell'irregolarità dello smalto colorato varia in ogni articolo. Alcuni prodotti possono presentare una texture simile a bruciature sulla superficie. Si tratta di un effetto unico dello smalto chiamato "yo-hen", una trasformazione cromatica involontaria che si manifesta sulla ceramica e sulla porcellana dopo la cottura.
