La taille et la forme du produit varient d'un article à l'autre en raison du processus de fabrication. L'aspect de l'irrégularité de la glaçure colorée varie selon chaque article. Certains produits peuvent présenter une texture semblable à des brûlures en surface. Il s'agit d'un effet de glaçure unique appelé « yo-hen », une transformation de couleur involontaire qui apparaît sur la céramique et la porcelaine après la cuisson.
