El tamaño y la forma del producto varían en cada pieza debido al proceso de fabricación. La apariencia de la irregularidad del color del esmalte varía en cada pieza. Algunos productos pueden presentar una textura similar a la de una quemadura en la superficie. Es un efecto de esmalte único llamado "yo-hen", una transformación de color no intencionada que se muestra en la cerámica y la porcelana después de la cocción.
